My latest shopping find is Wild Heart Jewellery, a boho chic brand if I’ve ever seen one.
What draws me most is the unique craftsmanship, with the price point at a close second. Think of a Pamela Love look for a baller on a budget price.
The total Dead Head, jam band-loving hippie, beach baby in me is all about those raw crystal necklaces and turquoise rings. You can’t deny that Mother Nature gives us some sick bling to work with!
Background info: I was working and listening to M.I.A. on Spotify when it all came back to me, Celine Dion style: M.I.A. is a M.O.M. How could I forget that insane live performance of Swagga Like Us during the 2009 Grammy’s??? I don’t think I ever will…
That performance will always have a place in my heart, mainly because M.I.A. is 9 months pregnant (fact, I swear) and rocking it outttttt on that stage with the illest “rap pack” around. She already had a killer rep, but singing sandwiched between Jay-Z, Kanye, Lil Wayne and T.I. solidified her reign as queen of cool in my eyes.
Her super spherical monochromatic ladybug look inspires me, years later. Here are my favorite black and white polka dotted pieces that will make you look more M.I.A. than Minnie Mouse. Because let’s be real, there’s a lot of juvenile looking spotted stuff out there right now, and I ain’t buying it.
Urban Outfitters bikini top and bottom; Dolce & Gabbana belt; Keds sneakers, Kate Spade watch, Topshop satchel; Zara shirt, Steve Madden sunglasses; Emma Cook skirt
If there was ever an occasion to drop the mic…. Am I right?!
Relive the magic below:

I’ve been on an ELO kick lately, thanks to some sweet iTunes deals. Evil Woman is hands down one of their most successful songs. So catchy, too. But there’s more to this song than it’s groovy tunes.
Evil Woman has been sampled by the Pussycat Dolls in Beep, Mike Posner in A Matter of Time and Daft Punk in Face to Face. Oh and the lyric about the lyric “there’s a hole in my head where the rain comes in” is a tribute to The Beatles’ song Fixing a Hole. Interesting, eh?
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend.
Damn, Mick, nice arm party.
That’s literally the first thing I thought when I saw this photo.
Enjoy this lovely footage of (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction. Once the balloons drop (oh, sorry, spoiler alert…) some random guy gets on stage. I love how Keith tries to shove him off and then just gets back to his guitar right away. There’s something comical and awesome about that moment.
H&M announced their upcoming collaboration with Isabel Marant. I am simply giddy with anticipation! With all of her collections she combines French sensibility with a strong rock ‘n’ roll edge. Being that rock and fashion are my two favorite things (see: this entire blog…) I’ve already started a countdown. You better believe I will be at H&M November 14, when the collab hits stores.
Here are some looks from her Fall ’13 RTW collection that I hope she draws from… That studded jacket would probably breathe life into my soul. And at an H&M price point? I think I would be a changed woman if I owned that.
I wish I was exaggerating. I’m not.
Studded. Chained. The xx. Push play.
The above stream of consciousness isn’t comparable to William James, but chic nonetheless. I like it.

This past weekend Governor’s Ball was a muddy mess, but it was a musical muddy mess. Having migrated South from my usual summer haunt (Manhattan), I missed the shenanigans. I did, however, catch some street style greatness courtesy of Style.com.
Here’s some #GovBall2013 realness comin’ atcha + inspired pieces you can buy online:
Barbour Casual Summer Force Parka.
Tory Burch Gloria Clutch.
Steve Madden Troopa Boots.
As for the playlist, I left that to the pros who put together this super fun fest, see below.
